Please note that the Laptop Academy will not be accepting freshmen for the school year 2009-2010. The program has been discontinued.
The Capistrano Valley Laptop Academy is a program that allows students to use laptop computers as an integral part of their educational experience in specially designed core English, Science, and Social Science classes.
A wireless network is available in these special classes, as well as at various “hot spots” around the campus. A Certificate of Completion is available. Students must complete the following requirements:
- Students will create a 4 year plan as a Freshman and would need to complete at least 6 courses offered in grades 9-10 to be eligible for the certificate
- The students must maintain a 2.5 G.P.A in the completed laptop courses
- The students must maintain a digital portfolio that documents samples of work completed throughout the program
- The students digital portfolio will be reviewed by a committee made up of the laptop teachers and would use an established rubric for scoring the work
